I think it is worth to put in the Roon knowledge base that both RoonCore and RoonControl on Mac 10.11.6 might conflict with Microsoft AutoUpdate processes (part of the MS Office for Mac 2011 setup).
After much methodical experimentations, because there were some problems with my Roon, finally I have disabled these (and only these) processes. As a result, for last two weeks my Roon setup is very stable.
