Hi @Julie_Meikle,

Thank you for your questions. We’d be happy to provide some instructions.

Installing on a Mac Mini: this depends on whether you want to install RoonServer or just the Roon app (Roon Remote). If you feel a little unsure about the difference, you can read more here:

Either way, simply navigate to the Roon downloads page on your Mac Mini to get started. Scroll down to Roon and select the Mac option. This will download a .dmg file to your Mac.

Here is a video guide detailing how to get started after downloading: https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/getting-started-with-roon#Ive_just_downloaded_Roon_what_next

Installing on a NAS is a little different and it involves a third-party, open-source installer managed by a longtime Roon user. Please see this article for more information about Roon on NAS. Here is the website for the installer:

  • We strongly recommend connecting your RoonServer with Ethernet to ensure throughput and minimize WiFi interference. The Nucleus models (RoonOS) do not have a WiFi antenna.
  • Setting up ARC might require you to make some settings changes in your router if remote access doesn’t automatically configure on install. You can visit the Roon Settings → ARC page to check if port forwarding auto-configured.

If not, please post here and we’ll help set up port forwarding.

  • Once you have Roon/ARC configured, you’ll find the app familiar if you’ve used the Qobuz app before. However, the apps themselves are quite different, as Roon is a music management service focusing on lossless playback and DSP. Roon offers features not available in the Qobuz player directly.

Please let us know if we can assist further. Thanks!

    Hi @Julie_Meikle,

We haven’t seen a response here and want to ensure you’re equipped to set up your Roon system. Please reach out if we can clarify any of the details provided above - there’s a lot of information covered in the articles, but we’re here to assist.

Checking in one last time to see if you were able to run through the above @Julie_Meikle - we’ll be monitoring for your reply, thank you!

Thanks, I have not followed the instructions as I am still in the trial period and do not want to invest in it if I do not take it forward.
So far it is not doing what I want as it is not showing Qobuz playlists.
If that is not fixed soon I will not be subscribing.
I find the cataloguing is not substantially better than Qobuz so without Roon working properly I cannot tell

    Good day @Julie_Meikle !

The issue with qobuz playlists is caused by Qobuz API change.

This issue will be fixed in the upcoming release of Roon which we expect to roll out very soon.

    So no worries about it!

If you don’t wait you can enroll to Early Access program, but make sure to create a backup for the time when stable release with the fix is coming.

    Have a nice day!

    Regards.

Actually it is not OK! My trial is pointless because I am not getting a good impression of Roon so far.
It has been an issue for a while and you are not giving a date for the official fix so it could be a long time yet. Hence I am not impressed.

Probably a subscription you will not get!

    Hi @Julie_Meikle,

Thanks for the heads up! We’d be more than happy to extend your trial once we get the fix to you in our next update.

We’re usually unable to speak on specific timelines just to set proper expectations there - the good news is progress is moving along nicely here, so it shouldn’t be very long of a wait!

Let me know if you’d be interested in extending your trial and we’ll get that going! Thanks, Julie! :folded_hands:

Thank you, I look forward to seeing the update. Yes, please, an extended trial would be really helpful.
    Thank you

    Hello @Julie_Meikle,

    Thank you for the update.

I can see that the trial inquiry has been resolved by our Accounts team, and the fix for the Qobuz issue is already included in the Early Access build. It will be merged into the next Production build update.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns in the meantime.

    Hey @Julie_Meikle,

You should be all set to go! Thanks so much for your long-standing patience here. :raising_hands:
