# Installing an older version of Roon

Is it possible to download the previous version of Roon so that I can again have a working version of the Roon while you work to fix the latest version?

Hello @Greg_Mullaly

Roon’s database is not backward-compatible, so installing an older version could cause the issue now or create latent corruption later. Because of that, we are not providing older versions.

While it would not help now, when this is fixed, I would suggest setting the update to occur only when you agree to the update.

I’ve had my device set to Ask for years just to avoid issues. You can find the setting under Settings/About, the About Section and then the gear menu. See…

If, like me, you have more than 1 entry in that section, the option needs to be set for each.
