· Server: NUC Intel running Rock Version 1.0 (build 259). NAS Synology DS18J. Library of 1200 albums. Tidal account. Roon Control devices: Ipad 9 OS 18.5 and laptop with windows 10. End Point Speakers Dutch & Dutch 8C. All the elements ( except Ipad) are connect to same 8 ports TP Link switch and from there to my ISP router. After years of working flawlessly with Roon, I began to experience different kind of problems: music stopped, couldn´t connect to roon server, ... At some point ( several months ago) I set up a new server from backup folder. For several months it worked fine but from time to time the connection to server was interrupted. Lately, after connecting to server it showed not music from library. I decided to setup all the elements on the same switch ( before, there were two different 4 port switches). But now, things are worsening: From my laptop, I can connect to server but does not find music and cannot add my NAS music folder to Roon. From my Ipad, it connects and disconnects from server showing "waiting to your roon server" message on screen. Many thanks for your help.

I have been able to determine that the problem exists when I connect the roon control device thru the router, be it wired or be it by wifi.
In other words, if I connect the laptop to a port of the switch, all the system works. However, if I connect the laptop to a port of the router or to wifi it won´t work. The ipad, via wifi, does not work .
Thank you for the detailed follow-up — this is actually a very important finding and it helps narrow things down significantly.
Based on what you described:
When your Roon Remote (laptop) is connected directly to the TP-Link switch, everything works correctly
When the same device is connected to the router (wired or Wi-Fi), Roon cannot reliably connect, the library does not appear, or the server disconnects
The iPad, connected via Wi-Fi to the router, also fails to maintain a connection
This clearly indicates that the issue is not with Roon Server, ROCK, or your NAS, but with how the router is handling local network traffic between wired and wireless clients.
Please look in the router settings for any options related to:
AP / Client isolation (must be disabled)
Wi-Fi isolation or “Wireless separation”
Multicast filtering
IGMP snooping / proxy
Any “security” or “guest network” features that may apply to the main Wi-Fi
If possible, also check whether:
The Wi-Fi network is not a guest network
All devices are in the same IP subnet
If you’d like, feel free to share screenshots of the router’s network / Wi-Fi settings and we can help point out exactly what to adjust.
Thanks again for the clear testing you did — it made the root cause much easier to identify.
Many thanks for the reply.
I have been able to determine that there were two devices in the network sharing the same IP. I don´t know why this happened because the IP were managed by the router´s DHCP server. As soon as I changed the IP to one of the devices the problem has been solved. One of the devices with the IP in conflict was a mobile phone which is not always on the wifi area. When the phone wasn´t connected to the wifi, the Roon system worked well. That´s why the problem was intermittent.
I’m going to mark this thread as solved and close it now.
