Describe the issue
Roon Server is running on a QNAP TVS-882 NAS. The container is on an SSD, while the data is stored on the HDD pool. I use an iPad, a Mac mini, and a Windows PC as control clients, all running the latest version of their operating systems. The connection between the audio endpoints, the computers, and the NAS is wired, using CAT-6 cables. After installing the server in the container, everything worked normally. However, over the last few days, I’ve started seeing intermittent issues: the audio devices and control clients lose connection to Roon Server and music playing stops. In many cases, the system says it can’t find the server. If I do nothing, the connection comes back by itself after a few minutes, but the issue keeps happening again. I’ve already checked the local network and the NAS, and everything seems to be fine. What can I do to fix this?
Describe your network setup
I use an UniFi modem and router and Cisco switches.
