Describe the issue
I just installed the Nucleus One last night after running Roon Server for several years on my HP laptop PC. I spent all day today trying to get my Samsung 23 plus phone and Samsung Tab S 8 tablet to work as a remote. My HP laptop running Windows 11 works fine but my 2 Android devices take 5 to 15 minutes to connect which is a total nightmare. I will have to return the Nucleus if Android doesn't work as a remote. I have a gigaspire U6 router and the Nucleus is eternity direct to the router. I deleted Roon on both devices and reinstalled and it worked right away on both devices. Tried again about 15 minutes later and the Android devices just hang saying waiting for Roon server to connect. It's marketed as plug and play but my experience today has proved that's not the case. It's torture trying to get my Android devices to connect consistently. Can I get help to solve the issue or should I request a return?
Describe your network setup
Gigaspire U6 router directly connected to my new Roon Nucleus One server. HP laptop PC running Windows 11 works fine but two Android devices are delayed finding the Nucleus
Thank you for the detailed report — and we understand how frustrating this behavior can be. We currently have a similar active investigation involving Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 devices, where Android remotes take a long time to discover Roon Server or fail to reconnect after being backgrounded. Your symptoms match this pattern very closely.
Before we proceed, could you please confirm two things:
When you previously ran Roon Server on your Windows 11 PC,
did your Samsung phone and tablet connect instantly and reliably, or did you notice similar delays?
This helps us understand whether the issue is tied specifically to the Nucleus One or to recent Android OS behavior.
Would you be comfortable capturing ADB logs?
This is optional, but extremely helpful.
The process involves:
Connect your PC to Android phone and install ADB (instructions are here (all platforms)). Then:
If this is convenient for you, we can provide the exact steps. If not, that’s completely fine — you would simply need to wait for our R&D team to finalize the fix, and follow the release notes.
Let us know what works for you, and we’ll take it from there.
Thanks for confirming that aspect. Do let us know once you’ve had a chance to look into the adb logs and we can proceed from there! Please, do let us know once uploaded so that we can check. Thank you!
