Intermittent Laptop Audio Source Recognition in Roon on NUC ROCK (ref#N5LW7H)

Hi @Alistair_Compton,

Please note that you don’t need Roon Bridge installed on a device that is running as a Roon remote, so you can remove this.

Good to know about NordVPN. As long as it’s kept disabled, it’s likely not causing you issues.

Let’s see if refreshing your RAATServer database on the issue Windows machine. may help. You can generate a new RAATServer instance on your device by following these instructions, but please be aware that this will reset your Roon Settings -> Audio Tab to factory settings and I would advise making a backup of any custom DSP settings you have:

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Windows machine Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder

We’ll be on standby for your reply and results, thank you! :raising_hands:

I’ve just followed the instructions. Sadly It doesn’t appear to have made any difference.
I have rebooted and Roon still doesn’t identify my laptop as an audio device.
The pattern continues to be the same, after a restart Roon does not recognise laptop in audio. I sign of Windows account, sign back in, start Roon and it might recognise it. Sometimes I have to sign out and in from Windows several times before it is recognised.
