Does this happen no matter the endpoint? How are each of your endpoints connected to your primary router? As well as your Nucleus - how is your Nuclues connected to your router?
With that, how are you external drives / network shares connected as well? Can you ensure a direct ethernet connection to these drives as well?
If you could, please share a specific date, time, and name of track playing the next time this happens, and we’ll be on standby for your reply. Thank you!
Thank you for your post. We’d like to pull diagnostics from the affected Nucleus so we can see what playback errors have been logged, but it appears you’ve migrated your server to another machine in the interim.
We’re eager to assist with troubleshooting the upstream connection of the Nucleus to determine the cause of these playback interruptions. At your convenience, please try the following:
Open the RoonServer on the Nucleus and connect to it with a remote and endpoint
Attempt to reproduce the problem
Keep your RoonServer online for at least an hour so automatic logs can reach out server.
Please also describe the basic topology for the network serving the Nucleus. Where is your Nucleus relative to the router and managed switch in this setup?
I continue to have issues . I had all new system installed : Weiss Man 301R core connected 20-30 feet away to Ubiquity router stack all new high end cable and interconnects . Connection tested yesterday by installers using $45,000 equipment, no signal loss from core now switched to Nucleus Plus. Synology 423+ connected to Ubiquity router. Will play a song then a momentary no sound with it continue the song, Synology is no longer processing music.
Can you please share the Signal Path in Roon for the digital audio path you’re using when you encounter this issue?
We see the Nucleus+ setting up a stream and delivering audio to the HDMI output. After the track finishes, it tears down the RAAT stream as expected. Can you please provide the name of the track that was playing when you last encountered the dropout/interruption you’ve described in your post just now?
Not sure what track as all tracks pretty much but wait I have now reverted the core back to the Weiss Man301R. It is attached to network using the now disconnected lan from Nucleus, I now can play uninterrupted for several hours, not sure why?
Thanks for following up! We’d be happy to continue troubleshooting if you’d like to migrate back over to your Nucleus, and share a specific track name the next time you run into a playback issue.
As @connor mentioned above, a screenshot of your Signal Path at the time of the issue would also be massively helpful - let me know if this is something you’d be able to provide. Thank you!
