· ROON server on NUC11i7 with ROCK, ROON bridge on Beelink BT3 with Windows 10 pro connected via usb to dac North Star Design Supremo. The ROON Server and the ROON Bridge are connected on an isolated subnet created using a Netgear GS105Ev2 switch. The port to which the server is connected also belongs to the subnet open to the Internet, connected to the modem via a Mesh Wi-Fi 6 network.

Hello @Paolo_Ferroni,

Thanks for sharing your issue here.

Could you please provide a timestamp (date and time) for when this happens? This will help us pinpoint the problem in the diagnostics report from your machine.

Thanks.

Sure! Next time it happens, I’ll report it.

it happened again at 20/01/2025 12:44

@Paolo_Ferroni,

Thanks for the timestamp. We didn’t see any suspicious entries in the logs at exactly 19:01, but we did notice disconnections associated with the “BT3-HIFI” zone.

These drops usually point to a network configuration issue or power-saving settings on the device itself.

We recommend the following steps:

  1. Disable IGMP Snooping: Please disable this setting on both your router and any switches in your network.
  2. Disable Energy Efficiency on the Beelink PC:

    Windows power settings can sometimes cut the connection to save energy. Here is how to optimize the Beelink to prevent this:

Disable Network Power Saving
  • Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Network adapters section.
  • Right-click your Ethernet adapter (often Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller) and select Properties.
  • Go to the Advanced tab.
  • Find the following properties and set them to Disabled:
    • Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)
    • Green Ethernet
    • Power Saving Mode
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck the box: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
  • Click OK.
Please let us know if this helps stabilize the connection.

@Paolo_Ferroni,

In the time range of your latest timestamp (20/01 12:44), we see a slightly different situation.

Here, the problem is caused by a network issue. Roon could not receive data from Qobuz and therefore could not fill the buffer.

In this case, we recommend that you set the DNS on your Roon Server machine to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1.

After that, please reboot all your nodes (Router, PC, audio endpoints) and log in to Qobuz again inside Roon.
