Thanks for the quick response. I can confirm that the ticket is actively being worked on. Our initial attempt at a fix ended up introducing some unintended issues, so we had to roll it back. That said, we’re currently working on a new solution that avoids those side effects. We appreciate your continued patience as we work through it.

Is there any more you’re able to tell me about the status of this issue? I find it puzzling that it has been unresolved for so long, considering the apparent severity. Apologies for being an armchair-software-developer, but it really seems like a small issue with how the playback foreground service is registered, causing Android to think it’s a valid target to kill for battery saving. I’m having a hard time understanding why it would take so long to fix, or have such low priority.
I understand if you’re not able to divulge anything about this, but I felt I had to let you know where I’m coming from here. I am affected by this issue multiple times per week (every day if I turn off Unrestricted Battery Usage for ARC), and it’s quite frustrating.

I have the same issue daily. Other music apps like Spotify or Qobuz are able to work around it. ARC on iPad does not suffer from this issue.

Long overdue update here. This ticket has been prioritized for engineering and is currently in the development pipeline. We don’t have an estimated timeline to release, but we will ping you here as soon as you can expect a fix or any improvements in a forthcoming Roon update.

Any updates on this one? The new ARC 1.79 has not solved the issue yet.
1.80 seems to have resolved this issue for me.
The latest update has greatly reduced the frequency of the issue, but I am still experiencing it. Just now it happened at least four times in a row.
@connor can you provide any updates? I’m a little concerned about your silence here, given you said you would touch base weekly a few months ago and I haven’t heard from you

We did make some changes in the latest release, and it seems to have helped some, but there is still more work underway. I’ve just bumped the ticket, and once there is more news to share, we will let you know.

With the latest 2.71 release, there were a few improvements that should have helped with your issues. We wanted to check in and see if you’re still able to reproduce the behavior when running the latest versions of Roon and Roon Server?
