· I frequently get a "Qobuz Log In Failed" error and music stops. Many times it clears on its own and I hit play and music resumes. Other times I have to go to my services and log in to Qobuz.
Tell us about your home network
· router is from Verizon. Fios. Ethernet connection both end points. I've only had the ethernet connection to the streamer for about two months. That connection seems to have taken care of the dropouts I used to get. But I believe these Qobuz error messages started around then.
Diagnostics show RoonServer losing its internet connection temporily just before it happens to perform a background reauthentication with Roon’s cloud servers and attached streaming services. Since the Qobuz API never responds because the server is reporting a socket error, the Qobuz login session is quietly terminated until you log back in.
Is this Mac frequently going to sleep or hibernating?
If you login to the Qobuz web service directly in a browser when you’re listening to Roon, do you notice that you’re signed out there, as well, intermittently? This will compare the Qobuz native servers directly with the Qobuz API, isolating the Mac as a variable.
What about consumer VPNs or other software that might tinker with the Mac’s internet connection?
We’ll watch for your reply and proceed from there. Thanks!
Wanted to follow up on this. Were you able to check whether the Mac is going to sleep or hibernating, and whether Qobuz signs you out in a browser at the same time Roon loses the session? It would also help to know if any VPN or other network software is running on the Mac, since we are trying to isolate whether the connection drop is happening on the machine itself or elsewhere on the network. Please reply with any updates or observations when you can.

Thanks for the follow up. I can confirm Mac is not going to sleep and Qobuz does not sign me out. I am not aware of any VPN’s. It has only happened a couple times since my first post. Once while I was listening to live radio, which I thought was odd. The error message cleared on its own in a couple seconds and I was able to resume play. Another time it popped up, music stopped, and I hit the “retry” connection and I was good to go. It is an infrequent issue but annoying.
Thanks for waiting. We have been through 25 days of logs and can now put numbers on it.
Your Mac is losing its network connection briefly, many times a day, every day. Not once or twice. Across the log window your server failed to reach our servers on all 25 days, and the account refresh specifically failed 155 times, which is about six times a day.
Each failure is the same thing: the request never leaves the machine because there is no route to the network at that instant. It is not a slow response or a rejection, it is the connection not being possible at all.
That is why Qobuz logs out. When one of those moments happens to coincide with Roon’s periodic reauthentication, the Qobuz session ends and you get the login error. Which request gets caught is chance, which is why it feels random and why it sometimes clears on its own.
So this is not Qobuz and not your Roon setup. It is the network path from that Mac.
Your own observation is the best lead we have. You said the Ethernet connection to the streamer went in about two months ago, and that the Qobuz errors began around then. That is worth taking seriously.
Three questions:
How is the Mac connected to Ethernet? Directly to a built-in port, or through a dock, hub or USB adapter?
Is Wi-Fi still switched on at the same time?
Is this Mac a laptop that gets closed, moved or undocked?
And one test that would settle it. Please turn Wi-Fi off completely, leave Ethernet as the only connection, and use Roon normally for two or three days. Then tell us whether the Qobuz errors stop. If they do, we know the interruption comes from the Mac switching between connections. If they continue, the Ethernet path itself is the problem and we look at the dock or adapter next.
