Describe the issue

Running ROCK on a NUC5i5RYH. Sometimes my remotes will not connect at all, and sometimes while they are connected I can only play streaming music (Tidal) and not my local library. Usually when this happens, I restart the Roon Server (from the web interface) and all is good. Lately however this process does nothing. I then try to reboot the NUC machine altogether (again through the web interface) but it seems not to reboot. The only solution I've found is unplugging the NUC from power and starting it up again. However when it boots up, the Roon server shows as running, but with an uptime of apx 4000 days uptime, and still no remotes can connect. Only after restart of the Roon Server (and after the power off reboot process mentioned above) will it show correct uptime and remotes can connect. This whole issue is appearing more frequently lately (once - twice a week), with no changes in hardware, networking, etc.

Describe your network setup

Rock connected via ethernet to Vodafone Powerstation 6. Main remote is a mac mini also connected via ethernet to same router.

Hello @Dimitrios_Mimis ,

This doesn’t sound right. If the time is that off, I wonder if perhaps your CMOS battery is running out?

I’ve activated diagnostics for your account, and I am seeing errors with hard drive #2. Is this an internal storage drive, or do you have ROCK installed to a SATA drive? Have you tried an OS reinstall yet?

@noris Hi. Thanks for you reply - I think I tried an OS reinstall, but not sure if it actually worked, cause is was done at a time when the machine would not reboot. Next time it acts up, I will do so again.
Also regarding you mentioning the drive error on drive #2… How can I tell which drive is #2? Rock OS is installed on an internal 2.5’’ SSD. Then there are 2 other mechanical drives attached via USB, one for my actual library files and one for backup.
Regarding the CMOS battery, that makes sense initially, but after I restart the server, all is good (until the same thing happens all over again).

@noris Also, I just lost connection again, after forcing a backup - which is done over the network to an SSD attached to my router.

Hi @Dimitrios_Mimis ,

The error appears to be related to a 4TB drive according to the logs. Can you try to disconnect that drive as a test?
