Describe the issue

hi, Roon is dropping every few hours and showing 'Waiting for server'.
It then connects back in after about a 30 seconds and I can press play again.

I don't use any DSP, just whatever happens with the Lyngdorf which is the only endpoint I am using (even though the Sonos are connected)

My equipment:

Lyngdorf TDAI-1120
Topping A70 Pro Headphone Amp
3x Sonos ZP120

QNAP TS-464 with 16Mb RAM
3x 14Tb HDD RAID 5 (These store music files all in .FLAC)
2x 2Tb SSD RAID 1 (These store the QNAP Program files - Roon is on here)
1x 1Tb SSD (This stores the Roon Database)

Everything is connected using CAT6 cable and 2x 2.5GB switches
2720 Albums
35652 Tracks

I would attach the logs but they are 87Mb

Thanks

Hey @Bob_Long,

Good to see you on the community again! Sorry to hear about your connection issues.

Based on a recent diagnostic report from your Roon Server, it looks like your devices may be having difficulties remaining on a single subnet within your local network.

Are you able to check and verify that you’re only using one subnet for your Roon devices?

With that, can you get a direct ethernet connection from your Lyngdorf to your primary router, and see if you run into the same issues? It’d be good to run a similar setup for your Roon Server machine as well, even if temporarily.

With that, we’re also seeing an odd out of memory exception, which doesn’t add up when looking at your library size: Exception Type: System.OutOfMemoryException

Perhaps refreshing your Roon Server database may help here:

  • Make a Backup of your current RoonServer Database
  • Exit out of RoonServer
  • Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database
