Describe the issue

I have signing in issue with Tidal, from time to time, I discovered that the problem exists mainly when the MacMini is connected through the ethernet cable, when the mac has wifi connection on the issue does not exist. I already complaint to roon a month ago and solved it by using wifi because I thought that it might be some router problem. But since then I did all the possible changes and tests. I even reinstalling the the roon of different MacMini, so today the roon server runs on different hardware, but all stays the same.
I wondering whether this roon issue or Tidal issue, maybe some of the networks doesn't like the stable IP address, with ethernet connection it always the same.
Please advise.

Describe your network setup

Router with connected mesh access points TpLink, with connected roon server through ethernet cable.

Hey @Tom_V,

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! I’m sorry to hear your issues have returned. Could you please bring your server back online, and we’ll enable a fresh diagnostic report to review.

In the meantime, try:

  1. Check for IP/MAC address conflicts on Ethernet Your router may be assigning the same IP to two devices, or the Ethernet MAC is somehow on a block list. Log into your TP-Link router and confirm the Mac Mini’s Ethernet lease is clean with no conflicts.

  2. Force a fresh DHCP lease on Ethernet On the Mac Mini, go to System Settings → Network → Ethernet → Details → TCP/IP → click “Renew DHCP Lease”. Then immediately try signing into Tidal. If it works once, the stale lease was the culprit.

  3. Check DNS on Ethernet, specifically Ethernet and Wi-Fi can use different DNS servers. Tidal’s auth endpoints may be resolving differently. On Ethernet, manually set DNS to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google) in your network settings and retest.

  4. Capture whether it’s a Tidal or Roon issue Try signing into Tidal’s standalone app or web player directly from the Mac Mini while on Ethernet — bypassing Roon entirely. If it fails there too, the problem is Tidal + Ethernet, not Roon. If it works, the issue is Roon’s Tidal token handling on Ethernet.

We’ll be monitoring for your reply, thank you! :folded_hands:

The DNS change suggested in step three above tends to resolve this issue for most users. If you haven’t tried changing your router’s DNS service to Google or Cloudflare, we strongly recommend giving that a shot as your next troubleshooting step.
