Describe the issue

Hi,

I have a problem with some (now rather many) tracks on the Tidal playlists/albums. They do not play. Roon tries to start it, but then after a few seconds skips the track and goes to the next one. I do not see any pattern: some of the tracks from the same playlist play normally, some are skipped. Some albums are skipped in full, but sometimes they play normally. At the same time, Tidal casts, via Chromecast, all tracks without any problems. Restarting (via killing all Roon apps in Activity Monitor) does not help. Roon for Mac version 2.51 (1534). I saw this problem many times before, but now it is super-annoying and has become much more frequent.\

Thank you!

Describe your network setup

Primare i35 is connected to wifi router with cable, Mac is connected via WiFi to the same network/router

Hi @georgi_hudjasov,

Thank you for your report. We’ve activated diagnostics for your RoonServer machine so we can pinpoint these failure events in logs. The machine hasn’t yet responded to our requests, so please open Roon and reproduce the issue at your convenience. This should be sufficient for the automatic reports containing the event to reach our servers.

Is there an error message displayed in the UI when you encounter skipped tracks in the queue? Are you using any VPNs or proxy servers on this Mac this might be affecting the geoIP reported to Tidal’s API?

We’ll watch for your response!

I just started the playback and got a lot of errors. Roon log.

Hi @connor , is the information I provided above enough to pinpoint the problem? Thank you!

Hi @georgi_hudjasov,

Thanks for your patience while we reviewed your logs. At the time the playback interruption occurs, we’re seeing the Primare device report a RAAT__OUTPUT_PLUGIN_STATUS_FORMAT_NOT_SUPPORTED and UnexpectedError. This is happening even though it’s trying to play standard 16/44 content, which should be supported according to the device’s specs.

We’re also seeing traces that suggest there might be an issue with the file itself.

Just to clarify: for the tracks affected by this issue, do they always fail to play in Roon, or does playback sometimes work?

Hello, I restarted the Primare i35 (cut the power off completely) and at least one album I have tried seems to work now. This album did not play at all before. Example of the problematic album on Tidal:

A Reality Tour (Live) by David Bowie

That’s great news @georgi_hudjasov - keep us posted on how things continue to perform. :+1:
