What are you talking about?
When will we see Roon Ready Relay in future devices? The initial announcement said, “Hi-Fi sources like CD players, tape decks, turntables, reel-to-reel, and others that are connected to a Relay device could send audio — including Hi-Res FLAC — to different zones or grouped devices.” but so far it seems to have been included in a handful of turntables. It would seem that a Wiim device with analog ins would be ideal for this tech to extend playback.
That’s a very good point! Where is this feature?
No idea what is going on with Roon lately.
Don’t forget another pretty wild about-face: the comeback of the offline functionality.

The feature exists, you can purchase 4 turntables with it, as was linked above in Dec by Geoff. It is left to manufacturer’s to implement or not. If there is a device you think the feature would be great on, I would suggest contacting that manufacturer and suggesting such.
Okay. There’s a thread here at the Wiim forum.
AND don’t forget No.3 Improvements in Box Set Handling
That was in the same paragraph
Roon however seems to have forgot
Whilst everyone is welcome to criticise, complain or ask questions of Roon, it is not okay to convey speculation or conjecture (with little or no evidence) as fact.
Moreover, ad hominem is not acceptable.

How open is this API? Can we develop some software to use it? It seems we can make something that gets picked up as an extension. If this can receive audio streams then we’re golden.
@DrCWO switched his RooPlay extension (which sends audio into roon from a usb attached A2D or from AirPlay) from using a radio station to use the API.
So I believe it is useable by others.
Thank you! I just tested and it seems pretty robust
Yes, there’s a nice example of using it on GitHub and a longer thread about it here.
I use it to stream various sources like MixCloud and Soundcloud through Roon, other than the initial delay it works pretty well. Can also set the artwork and now playing info.
Oh wow. So you’re already using this? Can you please explain your setup? I’d love to test streaming external platforms this way
I have the lifetime license for it! And most of your other ones too.
I use it for airplay right now and considering using it for vinyl also. Are you saying there is an integration with Spotify / SoundCloud that people have gotten working with Rooplay?
I’ve made a simple setup using the API and a Hifiberry ADC running on Dietpi.
it automatically starts streaming to Roon when detecting audio input from ADC.
I’m using it for my turntable.
The main branch streams over airplay, but this branch uses Roon Connect:
Edit: the song-recognition is not working in this version, so ignore that part of the code ![]()
