On iOS, there seems to be no way to find a track in my library. A track pops into your head and you want to find and play it? You’re out of luck. Which is a bit nuts-- this seems like a super basic feature of any music player. The “fuzzy” general search feature comes up with a lot of false positives and often tells me “no match” instead of just showing me my library track (even when the “Library Only” icon is pressed!)
As someone who is on the go a lot, this makes Roon much less usable. Unless I’m missing something, this seems like the first feature someone would want to add when creating an iOS app-- is Roon’s user base sitting at home all the time and OK only using the desktop/ipad?
First, Roon only works „at home“, i.e., on the local network within one subnet. For „on the go“, outside of the local network, the ARC app is needed.
Second, I don’t have data but I’d bet that the majority of Roon users use it for „listening“, largely stationary or at least with a tablet in reachable distance.
Fair point, but there was no specific mention of an iPhone, and in ARC search under My Library is a local query.
Moreover, the iOS app is the same for all devices, and, therefore, any ommissions in one format is a compromise because of limited screen real estate. In this instance, columns aren’t displayed
Of course, the OP could limit the search results to the library. The track I sought is first under tracks. Bingo!
