Describe the issue
Roon on my iPad does not play music and the iPad icon is not showing in audio section in settings…. My Roon server is on and is on the same network and subnet
If the iPad is not appearing as an audio device in Settings → Audio and playback does not start, this is most commonly related to iOS network permissions or a corrupted app state.
Please double-check the following on the iPad:
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure Roon is enabled.
Go to Settings → Roon and confirm that Local Network and Background App Refresh are allowed.
After that, please fully reinstall the Roon app:
Delete the Roon app from the iPad.
Reboot the iPad.
Reinstall Roon from the App Store and reconnect to your Roon Server.
Once reinstalled, the iPad should appear again under Audio settings and playback should resume normally.
Please let us know if the issue persists after this.
Hi..
Still no joy … I have tried the above and the iPad icon does not appear in the audio settings or the bottom right of the screen. Only system and Macintosh
The Roon software still doesn’t play any audio on the iPad.
Our diagnostic servers indicate that the iPad might be connecting to a separate subnetwork from the rest of your Roon ecosystem. If you have a mesh network or a second router in this setup, verify that there’s not a second subnetwork active.
In your router settings page, try disabling band steering and ensuring multicast forwarding is enabled (if these settings are available).
Do you see the iPad visible in other software on the same Mac you use for RoonServer? For instance, is the iPad visible in Airplay or via another music player?
