At work, I have often had trouble connecting my iPad Roon Remote app to the Roon server (which runs on my Mac: (2020 M1 Mac Mini, Sonoma 14.6.1, Roon Server 2.0 build 1462).
Until recently I have been able to solve this by (on the iPad app) either changing the Roon server, and/or entering the IP address of the Mac.
Since the most recent update to the iPad app, I am unable to find any option (in the iPad app) to enter an IP address or to change server. Am I missing something?
Is your server at home and you are at a works office? How you connecting to it via a vpn? Roon doesn’t support working over a vpn if so. It may work intermittently but it isn’t something you should bank on.
@CrystalGipsy – Thanks for the reply. No, the Mac is at work, so Roon server on Mac is local and iPad is on same network. (I have a second Roon server at home, running on a different Mac).
So the key issue is that the options to change Roon server/ enter an IP address on the iPad Roon app seem to have disappeared in the latest iPad app update… unless I’m missing something obvious.
Many thanks for following up on this. Unfortunately, the issue was not resolved for me. There is no change in my inability to connect from iOS or iPadOS to that server. I can connect from a laptop running MacOS 14, which is what I’ve been doing, although definitely not my preference.
