Describe the issue

When I try to Connect from my IPad, I get « looking for roon server » spinning indefinitely or sometimes « connecting to (with the identification of my PC) » but never succeed. I completed all the Aps reinstall , IP checks, and so on. Is this related to upgrading to Windows 11 ? Thank you.

Describe your network setup

My router is a ASUS RT-AX5400, bought a few months ago.The modem is from Videotron a huge internet provider in Canada. I use no extendeurs. Roon was working well with the same équipement a few weeks ago.only change is Windows 11.

Is the PC network interface set to “private”?

They were on private. In one of my attempts to solve the problem I checked both private and public.
I’ve just tried checking only “public”.
It works.
Wow. Many thanks Giles

How did you check. The quick way is to turn the windows firewall off and see if the iPad connects. Also verify that the network is Private not Public.

I never replied : Roon still won’t connect even after checking this aspect.
Checking public boxes worked perfectly well

Hello @desaulniersp

That’s definitely an unusual outcome — normally Roon should work on a Private network profile, and Public mode can actually restrict some of the discovery traffic we rely on.

But the important part is: we’re glad to hear everything is working again!

If anything changes or the issue returns after a reboot, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to help.
In the meantime, enjoy the music! :musical_notes:
