Hey @John_Huffman,

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! Sorry to hear about your iOS issues connecting with your ROCK.

As a first step in troubleshooting:

  • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.
  • Find Roon and toggle it OFF, wait 10 seconds, and toggle it back ON.
  • Why? Even if it looks "on," iOS permissions can occasionally hang after an update. This force-refreshes the bridge that allows RAAT to communicate.
Your log shows the Roon Server trying to "kill old client" and initialize fresh sessions frequently. If your iPhone is rotating its MAC address, Roon sees it as a brand-new device every time, which explains why it won't stay enabled in your Audio Zone list.
  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  • Tap the (i) next to your home network.
  • Toggle Private Wi-Fi Address to OFF.
  • Next: Restart the Roon app on your iPhone.
Looking at your ROCK logs, I see your core is pulling two different IP addresses: 192.168.86.3y (eth0/Ethernet) and 192.168.86.3x (wlan0/Wi-Fi).

Roon ROCK should never have both Ethernet and Wi-Fi enabled simultaneously. This creates a “multi-homed” network state that confuses the RAAT protocol and causes the Connection reset by peer errors seen in your logs.

If your ROCK is plugged into Ethernet (which it should be), go into the ROCK Web UI and disable the Wi-Fi interface entirely.

And lastly, reboot your main Router and any Mesh points. * If you have a managed switch between the ROCK and the router, ensure IGMP Snooping is disabled, as this often interferes with Roon’s discovery of iOS devices.

Let me know if any of the above help, thanks John! :folded_hands:

Hey @John_Huffman,

Just checking in to see whether you had a chance to try the iPhone Local Network toggle for Roon, switch off Private Wi-Fi Address on your home network, and restart the app afterward. I also wanted to ask whether you were able to disable Wi-Fi on the ROCK so it’s only using Ethernet, then reboot the router and any mesh points as we suggested. If you’ve tried any of that, let us know what changed and we can keep digging.

Yes, it worked ! I had commented back to original person that helped me. Thanks for checking.

Benjamin helped me out! Yes it worked!
