Describe the issue

My iPhone 16 cannot connect to nucleus one

Describe your network setup

Huawei optixstar eg8145x6-10

A few things to check

  1. Enable Local Network Access on iPhone

iOS requires explicit permission for apps to communicate with other devices on your home network.

  • Open Settings on your iPhone.
  • Scroll down to find Roon in the app list.
  • Ensure the Local Network toggle is turned ON.
  1. Disable AP Isolation on the Router

“AP Isolation” (or “User Isolation”) prevents wireless devices from seeing other devices on the same network, which will block Roon discovery.

  • Log in to your router’s web interface (usually 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.3.1).
  • Navigate to WLAN > WLAN Advanced Settings.
  • Look for AP Isolation or User Isolation and ensure it is Disabled.
  1. Check Multicast and IGMP Settings

Roon uses multicast signals to “find” the server. Some Huawei ONTs have these disabled by default to save bandwidth.

  • In the router settings, look for Advanced > IGMP or Multicast settings.
  • Ensure IGMP Snooping is enabled and, if available, set mDNS Gateway to enabled.
  1. Verify Same Subnet and Wi-Fi Band
  • Subnet Match: Ensure your iPhone’s IP address and your Roon Server’s IP address share the first three sets of numbers (e.g., both are 192.168.100.x).
  • Private Wi-Fi Address: On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the (i) next to your network, and try toggling Private Wi-Fi Address to Off. This sometimes interferes with server handshakes.

Hi @Jose_Leynes,

Diagnostics from our account servers show a device matching the description in your post might have connected with RoonServer in the last few days.

Are we correct in our assumption that this issue is resolved? If you’re still encountering intermittent connection problems, please let us know.

Thanks!
