iPhone Constantly Reloading Roon Screen

This is an annoying feature I’ve been meaning to write about. I use my iPhone a lot to navigate through Roon when I’m playing music. If I were to leave Roon and use another program, when I return to Roon later it has a tendency to reload the page I’m on and go to the top of the page—no matter where I was on the page before I left. The top of the page only shows the first few cuts. For example, if I’m on cut 12, I have to scroll down to find the cut I’m on. And sometimes, I’m on the page with an individual cut currently playing. When I return, it often goes back to the page with the entire album, rather than the current cut. Is there any way to make that annoying process to stop? Thanks for your help in advance.

Can I get someone from Roon to respond to my query? Thank you!

Tagging @support for you. :+1:

Due to the holidays, response time is a bit slower than normal.

Thanks for responding. I can wait.

I think it’s just the way it works. At least it remembers reloads the current page instead of going to a home screen.

I’d also like this issue to be fixed, but its not super important to me.

I’d say that this is more of a problem with iPhone (and even worse with iPad) and how iOS operates. There’s not enough RAM on iPhone to keep all apps open in background. Roon especially is heavy and uses lots of RAM. iOS kind of shuts them down and reloads when you go back. This is most annoying with web browsers like Chrome. Pages keep on reloading when you leave the app or even just the website tab and come back.

Roon’s desktop version in Windows doesn’t do this since PC usually has enough RAM for proper multitasking.

Thanks for that explanation. It makes sense. It is an annoying reality, and your explanation seems to indicate there is no fix or workaround. Looks like we’ll all have to live with it.
