I tag my music with custom moods. I use the “Grouping” ID3 tag but I can easily copy them to any other tag if needed for Roon to see them.
So, as the topic says: Is it possible for Roon to see “Comments” or “Grouping” ID3 tags from my music library?
What’s the meaning of “see”? Roon sees comments tags, but that doesn’t mean that you can make use of them somehow in Roon.
You might be able to make use of the ROONALBUMTAG and / or ROONTRACKTAG, see here:
Brilliant. This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for (or close enough). Tested and works great. Thank you.
I should have been more clear I guess. I mentioned that I tag my music by mood. I am looking for a way for those tags to show in Roon without having to redo everything. I use the ID3 “Grouping” field. With the solution shared by @anon47919701 I am able to copy the “Grouping” tags to the new tag fields I created and they show up in Roon as tags, allowing me to filter my view. Simple and elegant enough for my needs.
