Is it possible to have a display showing what's playing on Roon and also VU meters?

Hi,

My setup is as follows:
Roon on QNAP NAS
Raspberry Pi based USD streamer
DAC with USB input that has dual RCA and XLR outputs
Power amp with both RCA and XLR inputs.

I started off just wanting to add VU meters, so I thought about buy a pre made box and using plugging into the spare output of my DAC… But then I thought, wouldn’t it be great to have the Roon what’s playing function too?

So I was thinking to buy another Pi with a 7" or 14" screen or something, then have that displaying a software based VU along side Roon whats playing.

Is that even possible?

Hello,
It must be possible … It’s a bit what the ‘Displays’ function does in Roon. Unless I’m mistaken, the API must send this information. However, it seems to me that it is only possible with your own music, not with Qobuz or Tidal. Because for these two the ‘wave’ display is not present.
