Is Qobuz Adding Albums to my Library? [No]

I’m having the same issue with Qobuz albums being added to my library. Here are some screenshots. All of these albums were downloaded and copied to my NAS. The two albums listed as 13 Nov 2024 are showing up as duplicates and other albums are now showing the Qobuz symbol. These are all listed as King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, but these albums on Qobuz on not found under that, they are listed under ‘bootleg gizzard’. Which I have not been favorited, see screenshots.

I rebooted my ROCK server and now more albums are showing up with the Qobuz logo. All of these live shows were downloaded from the band’s dropbox links. Nothing was downloaded or favorited in Qobuz.

Hi Mark, what you’re seeing is not uncommon when viewing an artist’s discography. The discrepancy you’re noticing with the two Qobuz albums are not duplicates, but indicators of something being different (ex., album title; song title; tracklisting; track time; etc.) between the two. In your case I noticed that the album titles are different despite the similar album covers. That is why they’re listed separately. The Qobuz albums that match your copy are not duplicated.

Also, Qobuz does not download albums to your Roon library, even if you favor them. Qobuz only sends a link to the albums on the Qobuz site. You would have to purchase albums from Qobuz for them to be downloaded.

You are posting an image of King Gizzard discography. If you click on a performer’s discography, you should see every album, or most albums, that performer ever made. They ARE NOT in your Roon library.

Your Roon library looks like this:

Discography shows all albums by an artist available to you if you have a streaming service added. Often the version in their catalogue has different metadata or is a different version/release to what you have locally. If it’s the same you see your own version if not it will show as Qobuz or Tidal version. If you look in the Overview tab this is where you see just your own library versions. I agree it’s confusing but it’s one of Roons idiosyncratic things in the way it shows discography’s. This section isn’t just your stuff and is like this by design, right or wrong. I tend to only go there to play stuff I don’t own by the artist. If I do I use Overview.

Thanks for the explanation. This is the first time I’ve seen this happen so I wasn’t quite sure what was going on. They list the live shows under bootleg gizzard but it makes sense that the metadata still has the band name. They also switched the album naming recently which accounts for that discrepancy. Appreciate the help!
