Roon 2.0 requires macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later. If you want to use macOS as a remote for a Roon 2.0 core you will need to meet that operating system minimum version.

I just want to add that adding support for Apple Silicon required us to drop support for older MacOS.

I had to update my Roon Remote 1.8 on iPad to connect to Roon 2.0 core, so I guess NO.
