This is a weird question but lately I’ve been thinking about this and I guess the best option is just to let you guys explain it lol
Depends on what source material you’re feeding it, and what kind of DAC you have attached. If you’re doing default smart downloads you’re getting compressed files (pretty good quality but definitely not lossless). If you’re outputting to AirPods, definitely not lossless. Have a look at your signal path (click on the little glow-y circle that’s usually gold or purple or green). Send a screenshot. Then we can explain what you’re listening to.
The Signal Path usually says “Lossless” and I use regular downloads not smart ones, I also don’t have an external dac plugged in but that’s okay since most of my library is just 44.1khz 16-bit flac files
It depends on the source material and whether the connection between the Roon Server and Roon ARC has sufficient bandwidth. See:
