I have a raspberry pi 4 NAA connected to my DAC
My gaming PC runs HQPlayer and Roon server
I use iPhone or gaming PC for Roon music control
So current audio chain is Roon server sends signal to HQPlayer which then send the signal to the raspberry pi4 which sends it to the DAC
Would I actually have a benefit to taking Roon server off the gaming PC and onto its own NUC?

If it isn’t broke don’t fix it.

If you are happy with how things are working I would suggest sticking with it.
If reliance on your PC being turned on doesn’t bother you then I think you are all set.
I use rock and absolutely love it, but its personal.
I went rock last year and didn’t look back.
Just get one of these sub-$150 N97 bad boys and put ROCK on it, and don’t look back. This MOCK was easier than ROCK. No bios settings to change, no muss, no fuss. External USB drive or NAS for storage. So easy.
I can confirm that the GMKtec Mini PC N97 appears to work fine with the latest (as of this writing) Roon ROCK factory reset image.
I almost always stick to officially supported NUC part numbers when installing Roon OS. I picked up the GMKtec during the Prime Day sale and figured why not give my a try?
There was no need to change any BIOS settings. Just flash the image to a thumb drive, insert it, boot the image by pressing F7 within 3 seconds of power-on, and follow the prompts. YMMV, but t…
