Is it possible for me to decide how much of a song being played counts as ‘one play’? At the moment, a track seems to count as an entirely new play under some unusual circumstances.
I played a song a few days ago using Arc with Android Auto in the car. I got a phone call. After the call, the song restarted. I got another call. Song restarted briefly then I stopped the car. When I got back in, the song resumed.
My history showed that I’d played the track four times and the play count on the album reflects this same untruth. It’s a five minute song and I spent a total of 5 minutes listening to it. Roon is claiming I liked it enough to listen to it completely four times in a row.
I’ve been through the settings to see if I can change this - please forgive me if this is somewhere obvious and I’ve missed it but I’d like to tell it that a play is only a play when I’ve listened to (say) 75% of the track.
The example sounds like an interesting additional case for how track play counts are being treated. There are many different suggestions and complications, and your ARC example shows that phone calls are an additional complication. E.g., see the several different existing topics under Feature Suggestions :
As Suedkidz mentions, no and please setup a Feature Suggestion.
HOWEVER, the new Listen Later feature does include options to control what counts as a play for it to count as being listened to. I would suggest that you might tailor your Feature Request such that you are suggesting that logic gets applied to the main History played section.
