Roon recently launched update on Airplay2 for Samsung phones to connect to Samsung TVs and soundbars. I can connect to my Samsung soundbar but failed to Samsung TV. I tried to enable the TV device in Roon by inputting the passcode provided by the TV, it seemed connected but the TV generated another passcode later on, but Roon gave me no chance to enter the second passcode, the TV hanging on this request. I tried to reset everything and rebooted the system several times, but didn't succeed.
Describe your network setup
A boardband router provided by ISP connect to home ethernet and wifi network.
I use Google Home and I have no Apple device in my home.
I followed your suggestion to unlink the Samsung’s SmartThings App from Google Home, rebooted everything, and then attempted to connect the Samsung TV in Roon thru Airplay2, the same happened as before; the TV gave me a Passcode to enter in Roon, Roon was then enabling the TV device, the TV seemed to be enabled in Roon after a while, but the TV screen showing the original Passcode remained still. I tried to play a song thru Roon using the TV device, the TV screen displayed another Passcode, but this time Roon did not asked me to enter, there was no sound played nor any imaged displayed on the TV, however, Roon displayed the wave bars indicating that something was playing.
Got it, thanks for the update. As a follow up are you able to check the share settings for the TV - Can you verify that ‘Allow Speaker & TV Access’ is not set to ‘Only People Sharing This Home’ but to ‘Everyone’?
A) Open settings on the TV
B) Navigate to AirPlay and Homekit
C) Tap on “Allow Access”
D) Set “Allow Access” to “Anyone on the Same Network” or “Everyone”
E) Set Require Password to “On” and create a password
D) Back out of the menu to the home screen
F) Try to enable the zone in Roon. It should ask you for the password
First of all, I don’t have Apple TV nor any Apple devices in my home.
I followed your advice to check the settings in my Samsung TV on Apple Airplay Settings and changed to Password setting (screenshots attached). I rebooted the TV and re-enabled the Samsung TV audio zone, the TV seemed connected, but giving no sound (see the attached Roon screenshot, a wave soundbar was moving up and down).
However, as I mentioned in my previous reply, I am also connecting a Samsung soundbar via Airplay2, it is still working after the above reset.
Thanks for the update, and sorry to hear your issues persist. We were able to review a diagnostic report from your Roon Sever and observed the following:
Warn: [airplay/rtsp] IOException in RTSP request: Unable to read data from the transport connection: Connection timed out.
Warn: [airplay/clientV2] [192.168.100.64] OPTIONS failed: Result[Status=NetworkError]
Warn: [airplay/clientV2] [192.168.100.64] Failed to get OPTIONS: Result[Status=NetworkError]

Based on the above, it seems we’re hitting a timeout failure related somewhere in your network connection. A few thoughts for next troubleshooting steps:
Have you toggled on the airplay compatibility setting from the Samsung TV advanced device settings within Roon? Select the TV as a zone> click the volume icon > cogwheel > device setup > advanced settings > you should see the airplay compatibility option. Let me know if things perform normally when enabled.
If not, how is the TV connected to your network? Perhaps a network setting reset on the TV may help?
Can you set the TV to a higher wifi band at the very least? Something in your system is causing the TV to timeout with Roon, which likely also kicks off the re-authentication process asking for the same passcode. If you can figure out where the bottleneck is, you’re likely to solve your issues.
Providing specific router and network gear model information would be helpful.
Connor advised me to try wire connection to TV, but it was unsuccessfully to connect Roon via Airplay2. The TV generated another pass code asking me to input to Roon, but Roon did not allow me to input it.
I gave up to connect my TV via Airplay2, I used a Google Chromecast device to connect to TV, Roon connected to the Google Chromecast device successfully, I could play songs and display to the TV.
