Issue with Adding Favorites ("add to library") in Roon with Qobuz on Various Devices (ref#QSUCVL)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· Cannot add reliably new favorites to my library

I am using Roon for quite some years now and am very satisfied, however, since some months I have trouble to add an album as a new favorite. The GUI of the Roon client confirms the change and shows it appropriately, yet when I reload that album, it is not marked as a favorite.

I tried quite a lot: As I'm using Qobuz I removed all my local music folders from the library, tidied up, but no improvement.

I moved Roon server from my old QNAP NAS to an Apple Mac mini M2 8MB, no improvement. Recently, I temporarily moved the server to my MacBook Pro with M4Pro 24MB, also no change.

I use all latest versions, both OS and Roon, both server and client. My clients are mainly iOS / iPadOS, but also directly on MacOS.

Tell us about your home network

· I use an Ubiquiti Unify Cloud Gateway Ultra behind my DSL modem. I have various NetGear manageable switches, partly cascaded, but none reports retransmits or any other errors. Additionally, I have some Unify WiFi access points managed by the UCG.

Network is separated in different VLANs, wired clients and wireless clients are separated.

The Mac mini that runs Roon server is connected to the network using both ethernet and WiFi.

The problem that I described before happens also, when I try to mark an album as a favorite on that Mac mini. In my opinion this excludes network issues as the root cause.

Hi @Jurgen_Jaquemotte,

Roon distinguishes between the Qobuz object and the Album object. When you add an album to your library from the Qobuz album page, Roon will subsequently load the Album object. You’ll know because the heart button becomes available isntead of the “+” button.

Just to confirm a few details, since you mentioned that the Roon client confirms the change:

If you navigate to your Albums browser in Roon, do you see that this album has been added successfully?

Do you also see this album in your Recently Added on the Roon home page?

In the first part of the video, the page refreshed to the Qobuz object (the “+” was still visible). That shouldn’t occur but it can sometimes happen if the request to Qobuz’s servers times out when you attempt to add the album object. At the end of your video, it looks like the Album page refreshes and successfully loads the Album object instead of the Qobuz object on the album page. This is the expected behavior. Does this not always complete? Are you sometimes stuck with a spinner instead of a heart or “+” button?

What happens if you search for the album and click on it?

We’ll watch for your reply. Thank you!
