Describe the issue

'ban artist' not working

Describe your network setup

Unifi based, wired setup

Ok, some info I could not provide in the form (sigh)… For some reason Roon Radio wants me to listen to David Sylvian. And believe me: I definitely do not. ever.

It’s almost as if he’s a sponsor of Roon, but I’ve tried everything to not hearing him: banning tracks, and finally banning the artist.

But wait… after some tracks passing by… he’s back.

So there are 2 options here: me going crazy or this feature is not working

Hi @spockfish,

Thank you for your report. We can see David Sylvian content being queued from Tidal after radio requests it - just for due diligence, you don’t have any of tracks or objects by this artist favorited in your Tidal library outside of Roon?

Clear the cache, for due diligence, and restart RoonServer before reproducing again. Please share a screenshot of the Queue/Now Playing screen when Radio queues a David Sylvian track again. We’ll investigate promptly.

Ban artist functionality appears to have been removed. The only option is either Heart or clear Heart. Circle slash no longer appears clicking on icon.

This occurs on both my iPhone client and MacOS client, both current as of today with release of Play Later function. Clearing cache and restarting Roon Server made zero difference.

Ban album still works but Ban Artist (with one of their albums added to library) does not.

Hey @Larry_Post, I saw your post and wanted to jump in to help.

Ban artist functionality appears to have been removed. The only option is either Heart or clear Heart. Circle slash no longer appears clicking on icon.

The three-way functionality of that button evolved when the Ban Features were upgraded not long ago. What you’re seeing now is intended behavior - the ban function of that button went away because you don’t have to add stuff to your library anymore in order to ban it.

Banning can now be found at the bottom of the context (three dots) menu. You can get full details on the new banning behavior in our blog post if you’re interested. :+1:t2:

Thanks, unfortunately I don’t find Ban as an option for Artists in the TresDot menu. I looked there before posting originally.

Do you see it if you scroll down in the menu?

Ah, yes. Sorry. It’s not at all clear there are more options…perhaps a down arrow would be useful to indicate…
