I want to connect my Devialet Expert Pro with Roon Ready to the Antipodes CX/EX server using a USB cable. I have to switch de input to “USB” to make such connection. But this is not "Roon Ready". Now I place an Ethernet cable connected between de Antipodes EX (player) and the Devialet. Now I have a Devialet Roon Ready connection, but is is not using the USB connection and compromising audiophile audio quality. The EX addresses the wrong IP-adress to both audio outputs (192.168.122 for USB and 192.168.178.136 for Devialet, which is bypassing the EX) and so I am unable to choose the right audio output Roon Ready via USB. How can I solve this?
Describe your network setup
I have a modem/router connected with fiber to a Cisco EM220 switch. This switch is connected with ethernet to a Antipodes CX server and the EX player is connected with ethernet to the CX. The EX is connected with USB (correct) and Ethernet (not preferred)
To clarify, the Devialet Expert Pro’s Roon Ready functionality only works over the network (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) — not via USB. When you switch the Devialet input to USB, it disables the Roon Ready (RAAT) endpoint and becomes a standard USB DAC instead.
Roon cannot deliver a “Roon Ready” stream over USB direclty to the DAC connected through the USB. Therefore, you cannot use both USB input and Roon Ready mode at the same time.
If you’re aiming for the best audio quality and want to preserve Roon’s native streaming, we recommend using Ethernet to your Devialet. The RAAT protocol used in Roon Ready provides bit-perfect, high-resolution playback, and in most cases offers comparable — or better — performance than USB.
Regarding the IP addresses, it’s normal for Roon to show the USB audio output (from the Antipodes EX) and the Roon Ready Devialet as separate devices. You should choose the Devialet’s Roon Ready endpoint in the Roon app for playback.

My set has a lot of configuration possibilities, since my Antipodes is a streamer/DAC and endpoint and the Devialet is also an amplifier and DAC and endpoint. Fo all Antipodes and Devialet owners I hereby share the discussion. I thank Mark and Prince from Antipodes for their great support.
Prince: Your Devialet Expert Pro has Roon Ready which means it is a Roon endpoint.
This was explained well by the Roon team. You would need to set the Devialet as a USB output and disable Roon Ready which causes your issue where you “prefer to have the Roon Ready audio settings” you cannot have the Devialet as a Roon Ready endpoint if you want to connect it with your EX.
Your EX currently is ALSO a Roon endpoint. So it is not possible to daisy chain roon endpoints.
From my understanding you are requesting to connect an endpoint to an endpoint - and my response is the same as the Roon team’s response: this is not possible.
As requested by Roon; you need to disable Roon Ready on the Devialet, so that the EX is the Roon Ready device.
And then connected the Devialet to the EX via USB.
Other scenario:
If you want the Devialet to be the Roon endpoint then you dont connect the Devialet to the EX via USB. You keep the Devialet as the Roon endpoint, and through the Roon app you select the Devialet as the roon endpoint not the EX.
PF: My conclusion is that using the Antipodes as an endpoint is possibly to be preferred, however the audiophile sound quality is superb in al situations. The Devialet as Roon Ready path and also AIR is really outstanding. Possibly the reason is here the Devialet ADH design is a very balanced and well designed amplifier. Personally I am very satisfied.
