Issue with database backup

I recently added about 30 albums to Roon. For some reason I noticed that soon after Roon started analysing and indexing for several hours.

The next day I noticed that instead of showing newly added albums in recent activity/added all the albums showing were from albums added to Roon years ago rather as labeled as ‘added today’.

Somehow my database was screwed up.

I decided to restore a recent Roon backup which I found on a USB.

When I tried to restore the backup I received an error message:
No backups found, please check your backup location.

I restored my last working database which was 6 months old. Unfortunately this resulted in displaying double my albums, half of which wouldn’t play. I realise that this is because I’d bought a new external disc for my library and Roon was displaying the music on my old disc and the new one.

It looks like that I have to goo through the arduous process of letting Roon setup a new database from my library. Does anyone have any suggestions about the best way to achieve this?

Many thanks

This may not help you now, but when you notice database irregularities you should try restarting the server software before restoring a backup. It often seems like the server software gets in an unstable state and a restart can fix it.

Thanks, I’ll and remember that for next time.
