Describe the issue

I am running 2 Roon Rock on 2 different machines in diffreent location. I had bought 2 licenses. All machines have the identical music data. I back up the library on one machine (machine 1) and want to keep the other (machine 2) updated with the library/playslist. This worked for a while. Over last weeks I could upload the library from machine 1 to machine 2 fully as usual, and machine 2 says ok at the end. Now machine 2 says I have to log in into my rock via my roon login (via email + password). Then I receive the message from machine 2: There was an issue loading your library. When I then again restore the backup on machine 2, it is loading into machine 2 ok. But then I have to login again and the same message appears. The back up library I created can be restored on machine 1, but does not work on machine 2. I try it with different backups from machine 1 several times, always the same problem occurs. Both roon machines have the same name: London, could that be the problem? Is there a simpler way to keep the library of two roon systems with 2 licenses synchronised?

it's not a network issue

Hello @Wolfhart_Hauser ,

Thanks for reaching out. I’ve activated diagnostics mode for your account and I do see an error regarding your database and the corruption message, though this is the first time I’m seeing this specific error type. I will have to escalate this over to the team for review, but please note that due to the holiday season, it may take some time for your case to be reviewed. Thanks in advance for your patience!

Thanks for your reply. So far I have not heard back from your team. If it helps i could send th the ream a link to the older database from September 2024 which is working on both systems and the newer ones from December which create the error message.

Hi @Wolfhart_Hauser,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, and thank you for your patience. Based on our assessment, it seems likely that transferring backups between licenses may have caused the corruption. Unfortunately, we don’t have a way to confirm this with certainty. As a troubleshooting step, we recommend choosing a working backup to move forward.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need further assistance!

Hi @Wolfhart_Hauser,

Thank you for your ongoing patience.

If you’re willing, please upload a copy of 1) the September 2024 Backups that are functioning when restored and 2) the current database copy that is failing to generate restorable Backups.

Please use this uploader.

Our QA team will investigate closely in house and follow up as soon as possible. Thank you!

Describe the issue

I had opened atechnical request, loaded up two of my databases, but have not received an answer from your technical team which solves the issue. However my Support request has been closed. Hi @Wolfhart_Hauser,

This ticket remains with our QA team for testing and I don’t have a status update to share offhand. However, please allow us a chance to escalate and we’ll respond with more information as soon as possible.

Did you have a chance to compress and upload a database, as described here?

Hi Connor, thank you for keeping the ticket open.
I uploaded again 2 databases, the december 2024 is not working when tryin the transfer, the other one was the last one which could be used for the transfer.

Hey @Wolfhart_Hauser,

Thanks for your patience so far! We reviewed a fresh diagnostic report from your ROCK in London, and no longer saw any signs of database corruption. Are you still having issues?

However, we weren’t able to connect to the ROCK in Munich, would you be able to send over a set of manual Roon Server logs? You can use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.

Thank you!

Hi thank you for your feedback.I just arrived back in Munich an created the Munich log-file, sent it under my email zip name.
I took a fresh database backup from London and uploaded it … this time it worked, so everything is fine. Interesting what happened in between. Maybe you con find out with the Munich logfile. Thank you so far

HI @Wolfhart_Hauser ,

Thanks for sending those logs over. We looked over them but we were unable to find any corruption traces in the log files you sent over. I’m not sure there’s much more that we can investigate since everything appears to be working correctly at the moment, but should the issues return, please just let us know and we can take another look into this. Until then, hope you have an enjoyable Roon experience!
