I want to report a metadata issue

Search for "Schubert" has no results even though I have many local albums with Franz Schubert as composer. Franz Schubert also is listed in Composers. This is not limited to this particular composer, also "Schumann" is not searchable for example.
I have no subscription to any music service, I am using local files only.

Hi @Peter_Kurajsky,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. We’ve passed this information on to the team and they are looking into it. While I cannot give you an exact timeline we are looking into it.

This issue exists at least since March (https://community.roonlabs.com/t/issue-with-locally-stored-music-search-function-for-composers-schubert-and-schumann-ref-n8lpni/268508).

Thanks for giving this thread a bump and update @Peter_Kurajsky. I see we have a ticket in with development still, but progress has been slow.

Out of curiosity, and my apologies if I’ve glazed over this - what happens if you perform the same search using Roon Arc? Do you get the same results?

Thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Hi @benjamin, thank you for the update. The search behaves the same using Roon Arc, same results.

Here is a short video demonstrating the erroneous behaviour (using roon client on mac): search behaviour.

Thanks for the video @Peter_Kurajsky!

Another quick test for you: do you achieve the same results when temporarily switching your language to English?

No status updates from our development team, unfortunately.

Yes, I tried with English language and got the same results.

Thanks for the update @Peter_Kurajsky!

We’ll be in touch with more information after our team has had time to investigate further. :+1:

Hi @Peter_Kurajsky,

We’re still having issues reproducing this issue in-house, and think it may be database-specific. Could you please save a fresh backup, and upload it to our server for our QA team to attempt reproduction? You can 1. submit the .zip file to us through our Database portal.

Thank you!

Hi @benjamin,

I uploaded the database using the Database portal. Please note that the issue can only be reproduced if Tidal is not activated (I added Tidal test subscription just to test if the search behaviour will be different). Local data only is my usual configuration.

Thanks @Peter_Kurajsky - I’ve shared it with the team who will continue to investigate. Progress will likely be slow, just to set clear expectations.

Any updates will be shared directly to the thread, we’ll re-open if needed. Thanks for your patience in the meantime! :raised_hands:
