Issue with Roon continually indexing local library on NAS, causing playback interruption (ref#2DFRAM)

What best describes your playback issue?

· Music stops playing unexpectedly

Is there a specific error message you see? If so, please select from the following options:

· Other

Please try to reboot your Roon Server and check to see if this helps.

· Rebooting my Server had no effect, the issue remains

Are you having an issue with a single Zone or multiple Zones?

· I'm having playback problems with all my Zones.

Does the issue happen with local library music, streaming service music, or both?

· I only have local library music, so I can't test streaming service music.

Where is your local content stored?

· Somewhere else on the local network (NAS)

If you move the content from your NAS to a local storage location, do you still experience issues with playback?

· The issue happens for both the NAS storage location and on the secondary storage location

Please try playing content of a lower sample rate (44.1kHz or 48kHz), does this work as expected?

· No, lower sample rates are still affected

What are the make and model of the affected audio device(s) and the connection type?

· All devices stop playing. Sonos, Chromecast, Rpi, Chord, WiiM pro etc.

Describe the issue

Roon keeps indexing local library files (NAS) since two days. No change to network or hardware made recently. At approx 50% indexing Roon stops. Connection lost en app starts again. Music stops playing when indexing stops; indexing lib starts over at file number one, till it reaches 50% of lib files/tracks. Total amount approx 80.000.

Messages from indexing window

>>>
Connected to Library
Scanning
81497 tracks imported
43xxx files scanned

(xxx = variable, stops not always at same number but always somewhere between 43000 en 44000)

Message
“Oh oh something went wrong etc”
Roons starts up and indexing begins at number one again.

This repeats over and over again.

At the moment scanning aborts (at about 50% lib tracks) Music stops playing.
No matter what endpoint is used or what stream is used to play (from lib or from internet (Radio) stream)
Problem is happening since last sunday 21/7

Steps taken
Roon server stopped en started (Mac mini).
Shut down Mac mini en restarted several times.
Servers (NAS) with lib rebooted severals times.
Deleted orphan files from lib (three found and deleted).
Nothing changed in my network.
Use ISP with 200+ Mbit/s up and 50+ down.

No solution till now.

Cannot use Roon as I’m used to. Not working.

Please advice.

Kind regards

Ronald
