Issue with Roon Nucleus Audio Output after Connecting miniDSP Flex (ref#AUX91S)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Roon is slow, freezing or won’t start

· Roon won’t start up at all

Tell us what's going on

· Hi team - for a number of months I have been successfully running Roon (Ver 2.73, build 1696) from a Nucleus One server to 4 zones/amps/speakers using a variety of streamers. They have all worked simultaneously and really well. Today I connected a miniDSP Flex (with digital outputs) into one of my zones via a WiiM Pro, and Roon became troublesome. Two of the zones disappeared, and then essentially Roon Nucleus stopped sending audio all together despite power cycles, reboots/restarts, as well as power cycling my router.

Error message in the Roon app is: "Audio device refused to switch input to Roon".

Downstream of the miniDSP Flex is a Schiit Bitforst 2/64 for my speakers, and a Schiit Modi+ for my subwoofer.

I have since connected a Toslink cable from my Cyrus Classic Streamer to the WiiM & miniDSP Flex (and Bitforst & Modi+) and all is working fine — but this is when playing via BluOS not Roon.

I am running Roon from iOS 26.6.2 and Tahoe 26.6.2.

Should I activate the Database and Settings “reset” option via the online portal?

Thanks Simon

Hello @rice.simon

I have gone ahead and enabled diagnostics mode for your account and what this action will do is next time your Roon Server is active, a set of logs will automatically be generated and uploaded to our servers for analysis.

I wanted to reach out because I’ve been keeping an eye on our servers, waiting for the aforementioned diagnostics report.

For some reason it is not reaching our servers, even after I tried re-enabling diagnostics on your account. I also ran a quick test and I was able to submit a similar report from my setup here, so something else is going on.

So we can move forward, I was hoping for now you could use the directions found here and send them to our Logs Uploader Service and let us know after, thanks!

Hello @rice.simon,

Wanted to follow up on this. Were you able to grab the logs using the log collection guide and send them through the Logs Uploader Service? If that’s done, let us know what you saw after reconnecting the miniDSP Flex and we can keep going from there.

Please note, if we don’t hear back from you this thread may close automatically soon. If the thread auto-closes and you need further assistance, please submit a reopen support request via the technical support help form below and specify that the issue should be reopened. Thank you.
