Describe the issue

I have 2 zones. One recognizes Roon and works perfectly. Other zone's device is not recognized and does not show an "Enable" button. The audio equipment plays other sources perfectly. I have restarted the DAC with no help. The IP displayed is different from any other Roon ready or tested device that is displayed in the "Audio" screen. The device is a Pecan Pi streamer/DAC with Volumio as control. I have no firewall activated on this device. I did not understand the request to check the Roon Remote and did know where to find it. The Zone/device under question was operating fine until the last few days.

Describe your network setup

Hi @Thomas_Carroll,
Thanks for reaching out to us to ask about this issue. In the screenshot of your audio settings that you shared which device is the DAC you are asking about. If it’s one of the one’s with no enable next to it that means Roon thinks it has already connected to it. In that case we would need to get a better idea of what symptoms you are experiencing. Will no audio play at all? Are you able to select it as a zone from this menu?

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Hi Daniel and thanks for helping. When I select the zone " Volumio",no audio is playing. It does show on my Roon screen that the song that the song chosen is playing, but no sound. I tested my audio system out on other inputs and the system plays fine; In other words, I can’t find a defect in the amps or DAC ( I even changed to another DAC with same no music). So Roon is receiving my music request, but no sound is playing. I have another audio zone that plays on other devices that plays perfectly. I could not send a second screen shot with the last message to Roon. Would you like to see it? Thanks again!

Merry Christmas, Daniel! Good news. You can remove me from tech support. While my son was home for Christmas we started discussing the audio problem and just could not see how it was due to Roon; instead went more deeply into my audio equipment. Replaced my present DAC/streamer with a different one and all problems vanished. Believe it was somehow connected to a recent Thunderstorm that caused loss of power for one plus hours. Nothing else in my system was harmed. Damage occurred ( if it was the cause) in spite of a whole house surge protection and supposedly good surge protector power strips.
Anyway, thanks again for your attention. The Roon community has always been good news and assistance for my music questions.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy and interesting 2025!
Tom
