Syncing between Tidal and Roon, which always worked perfectly, now is stuck with 'syncing now', even after waiting for many hours. I have tried to log out of my Tidal account, and have cleared the cache, but nothing helps.
Describe your network setup
Telstra router connected with NBN high speed internet.
Hi @Maurice_Eisenbruch,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. Sometimes this can be fixed by using a different DNS.
We have seen users have a better experience in the past if they change their Router’s DNS servers from the ISP provided ones to Cloudflare DNS, Quad9 or Google DNS. Can you please give this a try and let me know if it helps?
Okay I would advise you to open your own support thread through the “Get Help” button in the Support category. Though you may have the same symptoms as the OP your specific circumstances may be different.
I have tested to use different DNS like google DNS, but that doesn’t change anything.
If I use my InnuOS Pulsar streamer with its Sense app and its Tidal integration instead of Roon, there is no issue with syncing content from Tidal so there is no DNS issue in play here. It’s a Roon issue.
To be honest, I love the Roon interface, but it’s not the best sounding software out there and this issue, which the Roon community doesn’t seem to get any info about or answers to from Roon makes me start thinking that the cost for the Roon software is maybe not worth it.
The InnuOS Sense software sounds slightly better and has a decent interface eventhough Roon really shines in the interface department.
It’s extremely frustrating to have these issues for some days or weeks and then suddenly it works ok again for some day or weeks and during this time I haven’t done any changes to the Roon system.
You could at least give us some info about what you found out so far causing this issue?
