Issues Editing TIDAL Playlists in Roon

Hi all. I’m new to Roon. Love the experience but need two-way sync between it and Tidal.

When I add or remove a track from a TIDAL playlist within Roon, the change appears to apply briefly but then the track disappears or the modification is undone shortly after.

Is there a way for Roon to write or modify data directly on TIDAL’s servers? so tha when I modify a playlist within roon the same change hapoens in Tidal too? and vice versa.
I need to have them mirrored.
thanks!

As I am aware roon is syncing FROM Tidal to Roon. So you have to do your changes in Tidal app. If you do it in roon then it is syncing back from Tidal and the change is gone.

No, you can only edit metadata for titles added to your Roon library. When you edit a streaming service playlist in Roon, these changes result in the playlist on the service being removed from that service’s favourites and removed from Roon*.

*Roon uses favourites to synchronize between services. When you change something in Roon, they are not the same object.

You may achieve what you want by using a third party service such as Soundiiz, which integrates with Roon and TIDAL.

thanks man.
Soundiiz and Tunemymusic don’t support roon.

why do you think roon can’t sync two way with tidal? when lots of ■■■■■ apps can.

this makes the whole roon platform useless for me…

You should read this Help article that explains how Soundiiz is used with Roon…

And I think you have misinterpreted what @mjw was saying about the two-way synchronisation that Roon has with Tidal (and Qobuz and KKBOX)

thanks Geoff! I hadn’t seen that.
this solution is like going back to live in 2007 though.
do you think this feature (instant sync) will ever come on roon?

As @Geoff_Coupe has explained, you need to export the playlist from Roon first …

No other app has deep integration with a streaming service, which is one reason Roon is unique.

I think you have also misunderstood how Roon removes the need to use the native streaming apps. In Roon, streaming services are simply a source of music that can be played and added to your music library (in the same way local files are handled.)

I understand, and I appreciate your answer.
I want Roon for organizing and discovering and streaming music while playing on my hi fi system. It’s the best for that.

But I also dj, and need all that finds and playlists yo be alive in Tidal too.

That is possible (if I understand your need correct).

In Roon just save any playlist under Tidal (not in Roon playlist folders) and you can edit two ways - I.e edits in Tidal is replicated in Roon and vice versa.
