Issues with connectivity to ROCK after updating to 2.71 on Mac (ref#Q6NCI0)

Is Roon Server running?

· No, Roon Server is not running.

For Roon connectivity to work properly, both Roon Server and Roon Remote need to be turned on.

· I can't turn on Roon Server, I need help.

Describe the issue

Since downloading 2.71, I continually have to try and launch the software to restore app control, the app on my Mac is not working and ARC cannot connect to the server.

Describe your network setup

EE Broadband router to ROCK. No issues before software update

Hi @Trevor_Clarke

Mostly like Roon Server is running on ROCK, there’s a known issue with the RoonOS status display.

There’s also a separate known issue where Roon Remote running on Mac’s (I think only affecting Mac’s with Intel CPUs).

As a troubleshooting step, do you have Roon Remote (not ARC) available on a non-Mac device (Windows PC or a maybe a phone) if so could you see if that can connect to the Roon Server running on ROCK?

If that connects it will confirm Roon Server on ROCK is actually running and the focus can move to your Mac.

Thanks Carl

The Roon Server is running because i can use iPhone, iPad and MacBook Roon apps although these are problematic and regularly I have to restart the server which, albeit that it says it can’t, appears to temporarily solve the issues. iMac app and ARC are unusable.

PS My Mac processor is 3 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5

Update - ARC is now working.

Hi @Trevor_Clarke,

Glad to hear ARC is now working. We just released a hotfix for the incorrect status being shown, so please let us know whether the issue is resolved on your end after updating Roon. Thanks!

Noris

That seems to have worked.
