Had a new Sky Max Hub installed today for broadband. Roon app now endlessly searching for the Roon server.
What I have discovered is that if I turn off the Norton 360 smart firewall on the server PC, then immediately the server is found.
I have In Norton programme control RAAT Server, Roon and Roon appliance set to “allow”. All has been fine so why is Norton blocking Roon now with a new router? Thanks in advance.
I’d remove the existing rules and create new ones. Maybe Norton has some stale data in its database where the rules refer to IPs that don’t exist anymore.
Thanks. Before I tried this, I noticed that Norton had configured the network connection as public. Changed it to private and everything is back to normal. Not sure how/why installing a new router would cause Norton to do this. Anyhow all is good again.
