Hello, I dont understand why roon app cannot work even if it does not find my music library. After all, I am using only streaming services. Having said that, I did tried to follow the instruction on yiu site regarding this error which recommended download and reinstall roon. I am running roon on linux ubuntu. After downloading the installation file ( I chose to install via the installer),I double clicked the installation file and it only opened for a view. It seems it did not run. Anyway, I restarted my linux based server and I still see that roon is active but the music library is inactive. Roon app still shows the previous message "there was an issue loading your library" I dont know how to proceed .
This has nothing to do with your music files (library) but with Roon’s application database (here called library too). There is guidance for this error available:
PS: For the support people to relay to the devs. Did the wording change from database to library at some point? Calling the database “library” too seems causing issues, maybe revert to name the database “database” (again or newly)?
Thank you.
1st, how do I rename roon database name?
Right click wont work…nothing happens
2nd, as I wrote in the problem Description, I already downloaded roon (for linux) but I how
do I execute the installer ?
Double click on the file just opens the file and nothing really happens
This isn’t how you should install Roon on Ubuntu. Once you’ve downloaded the easy installer for x86_64, open the terminal in the download folder, e.g.:
cd ~/Downloads
chmod +x roonserver-installer-linuxx64.sh
sudo ./roonserver-installer-linuxx64.sh
Make sure you have installed the dependencies first.
I’ve activated diagnostics mode for your account and I can confirm that logs came in properly, I’m looking over the logs and I see that you have database corruption. You’ll need to follow the instructions listed in the endless loading guide or as per @mjw 's instructions, and reinstall Roon by selecting a new database directory, and then restoring from a backup (if available).
