Issues with Tidal and Roon Synchronization (ref#KOI3Y8)

Sync between Tidal and Roon

Win10 on Intel PC. Sky fiber 1Gb internet connection. MiniDSP Flex8 DAC.

This is the third time I’m reaching out for support over the span of almost two years, but I’d like to point out that the issue has never been fully resolved. Basically, just like the previous times, when I add an album on Tidal, it only appears on Roon in some cases. But in most cases, it doesn’t. Not even after months. Not even with a manual sync.

Is it really possible that Roon is simply unable to sync properly with Tidal? Is the only real solution to give up on Roon and switch to another player?

Please let me know if there’s a real solution to this issue. Thank you.

I have gone ahead and enabled diagnostics mode for your account and we see a multiple network related issues in the connection between Roon and Tidal services.

Would you kindly clarify is something recently changed in your network setup, firewall settings or antivirus restrictions?

thanks for your support. No, I confirm I didn’t change anything in the last months.
I only disabled my antivirus some months ago to solve this same problem

Thank you for your post. We’re sorry to hear you continue to be plagued by this issue.

Unfortunately, diagnostic logging shows RoonServer is struggling to reach services other than Tidal. In fact, going back several logsets, RoonServer’s requests to upstream servers for image downloads, metadata, and other services frequently fail. The failures are usually generic network errors, which RoonServer is unable to classify further in logs. In logs, this is represented by a status code 998 response or similar in return to RoonServer’s URL request.

That doesn’t mean that an underlying network problem is causing your Tidal sync inconsistencies. You may have two separate issues: one problem internal to your network and one problem in the upstream connection (with the CDN and network pathway from Tidal serving your geolocation).

Do you use Roon with a VPN? Try turning it off, or changing the location of the proxy server to try and kick a different service pathway from Tidal’s API.

Please elaborate on the rest of the network path serving your RoonServer in your local network. You’ve tried DNS changes and firewall exceptions per your previous support requests - what about other software on the Windows machine other than antivirus? Do you have any software that manages the network, or any other stateful security else on this network?

The more information you can provide, the better we’re equipped to assist. It’s not normal to encounter long-term sync errors between Tidal and Roon, particularly after manually syncing the library. In the context of the broader network failures in diagnostics, we likely require more complete information to take effective action here, however.

about manually sincing Roon report “Sincronizza adesso libreria” (Sync library now) , buy I cant’t click it or do something to really sync library manually.
I do not use VPN or other sowftware that manage my connection. I also disabled Windows firewall.

It seems I solved the problem disabling IPv6 from Windows.
Let’s see if everything works properly over the next few days.
