I had only just bought mine on a 7 day return policy , I hit the issues you describe so I returned them before I ran out of time and in doing so missed out on a great deal (13% off) . They are now back to normal full price 
I see the new Luxe is claimed as Roon Ready only mid 2027 ! I find that odd as all their range are Roon Ready
I already spent the money on Meze Audio Elites so KEF’s loss.

How do you decide speakers or headphones

I know “rules is rules” but I don’t see a serious issue when there’s a follow-up question, which requires only a short reply.
My answer is that I moved to a flat which I thought would require a headphone setup, using a Chord Dave, but it’s turned out that KEF 60s either side of the TV aren’t a problem for neighbours. I now listen more to speakers that headphones, but it can depend on my mood.
Since having updated to 4.1.191, playback seems to have stabilized. Will report back on any future interference / sq defects

I am glad I am not alone with this struggle. When I first encountered the issue this thread didn’t exist, in hindsight I should have created one. Thanks to everyone who has weighed in here. I’ve reached out to KEF US for the firmware fix.
After first encountering the crackling/static I was on a mission to isolate the issue and/or fix it somehow. I was able to drastically improve the issue by forcing 44.1 khz streams to upsample to 88.2 khz with Roon DSP. You would think that would make the issue worse, but it all but eliminated it.
Hopefully KEF officially releases a firmware version for everyone. I am sure there are plenty more affected users that don’t frequent the Roon forum.
I am happy to report this issue is fixed for me after reaching out to KEF US support and having them push a hotfix. I provided the MAC address of my LS50W2, and within 24 hours the update was pushed to my speakers. My firmware went from 4.1.191 to 4.1.192.
Hopefully this fix makes it into the public release and Roon stability is part of KEFs beta testing going forward.

In my case, it depends on whether SWMBO is in the house! She’s not a big fan of my musical taste, especially Wagner! To be fair, Claude Debussy shared her reservations.
Yeah same here, very fast reply from the KEF support team also for my LS50W2, 4.1.192 pushed to me and fixed it (thinking back to the amount of hours I spent doing wireshark / tweaking switch settings to try to fix it 
). Just a random note as to how good KEF are, in terms of pushing firmware within hours of filing support request. They have replaced drivers/fixed components at 0 charge for me many times over the years, what a company, I digress.
