We’ve identified a few events in Roon Server diagnostic logs for your account that correspond to what you’re describing.
Device updates from this endpoint stopped reaching RoonServer shortly after playback concludes, and the KEF’s UPnP timers expired. This caused the endpoint to tear down as an active Zone, and then disappear from Roon entirely.
Basically, the network pathway between the KEF and Roon is no longer carrying data, either because that data is never being sent by the KEF or because that data is lost in transit.
I’d first verify that the KEF isn’t going into standby mode, and I’d try connecting it to the main router for testing instead of a WiFi access node, if relevant. Try hardwiring the device via ethernet.
I also recommend double-checking that multicast forwarding is enabled in your network settings for your router.
Additionally, the Microsoft Defender firewall will sometimes sever Roon’s ability to discover local network endpoints. Ensure that RAATServer.exe and RoonServer.exe are both added to the safelist.
Just checking in on this, have you had a chance to try the steps we mentioned, like checking whether the KEF is going into standby, testing it on the main router or via ethernet, and confirming multicast forwarding is enabled? We also asked you to make sure RAATServer.exe and RoonServer.exe are allowed through Microsoft Defender, since that can block local device discovery. If you’ve made any progress or found anything new, let us know, thank you!
