I’m so digging my little bedside set-up right now. It’s tiny, and powerful enough, and closed backed so my spouse doesn’t get on my case. I could certainly see getting more, but this is pretty good given that if I crank ANY closed-back setup I’m going to disturb someone. And while it’s really crummy vs. my office desktop headphone rig and my main system, it’s really fit for purpose.
So this is mine… what’s yours?
RopieeeXL -> Schiit Fulla 2 -> AKG K553 Pro’s
Loving having this set up vs. my old Tidal app on iPhone -> iDongle -> HD598Cs.
Pro-Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra (via Ethernet) -> Benchmark DAC3 HCG -> Sennheiser HD820 / Beyerdynamic T5p / Beyerdynamic-Drop DT 177X Go (excellent headphones, on par with the T5p for half the price) / AKG N90 / Ultrasone Pro 900 Note: all of the headphones are closed back.
Speakers:
The analog output from the Benchmark feeds an Audio Refinement Complete integrated amp -> Energy Veritas 2.2i speakers
Respect if you keep all those by your bedside… I can’t imagine your bedside table.
Thank you for the prompt to go check out the 177X; I forgot that it was balanced capable, and I’ve been looking for a not-crazy-priced, closed-back, balanced capable, headphone. That is in my future.
Two headphones are on the night table and the rest on top of the dresser.
Yes the 177X are great headphones. One of the unsung bargains on Drop. Very detailed and neutral sounding with very good bass and really nice midrange and high end making for a very well balanced sound. Truly outstanding and they’re very comfortable as well.
