Lacking sound clarity when played via ROON

CXN v2 passes the PCM signal just through to the digital outputs. What point are you trying to make?

For years, many audiophiles have pointed out that WAV and FLAC sound different even though the files contain exactly the same samples. One hypothesis is that the extra CPU processing (although small) required to uncompress FLAC adds noise or jitter that somehow affects performance of the downstream DAC.

Seems easy enough to test. Just try uncompressed FLAC versus WAV to see if the compression is the culprit.

FLAC will uncompress to PCM which will be 100% the same as before the compression. If you believe it is not so you can start new thread “Voodoo in sound engineering” or the like.
Let us close the thread as it goes nowhere. I have found the way to contact Support directly so thank you all but I will wait for them to respond
